Christmas is coming up!! I absolutely love Christmas. It gives me an extra excuse to go buy more treats, toys, beds, and other fun things my pups don’t need lol. In this post I’m going to share with you guys the fun holiday treats that my pups love. Most of these treats are available during the holidays only.

         1.      Zukes– Turkey and cranberry.

         2.      Whimzee (a chew) Its designs are a snowman and a Christmas tree.

         3.      Bocces – Red velvet (peanut butter, beets, cream cheese).

  • Ginger snaps (peanut butter, cinnamon, ginger).
  • Santa s’mores (peanut butter, carob, vanilla)
  • Lumps of coal
  • Holiday feast (turkey, pumpkin, cranberry).

         4.      Pure bites– Turkey and sweet potato.

         5.      Wholesome– Sweet potatoes

         6.      Merrick’-seasonal wet food- Christmas Day dinner (chicken, duck, sweet potatoes, peas).

I know there’s a lot of temptation to buy holiday treats when you go to the bigger chain pet stores. Stores like Petco or PetSmart are well stocked with a lot of treats. However, please be careful which treats you are purchasing for your pup. Rawhide has some amazing and fun holiday chews, but a LARGE amount of rawhide is not good for your pups’ digestion. You should also keep your eye out for BHA as it’s known to cause cancer in pups. It is mostly found in milk bones. Anything with corn by products (mostly in dog food) is also not healthy. Pups cannot digest corn. This is why shopping locally is the best. I know this because I worked at a local dog store in my town. All we wanted was to give to your pup the best and nothing that they couldn’t digest. Overall, just make sure you understand the ingredients in what you are buying regardless of where you purchase it.

Happy Holidays to everyone!
