This post is going to be about the different types of protein you can give to your dog during the seasons or the temperature your pup is at all the time. So if your pup is hot all the time you want to give them a cooling meat, if your pup is a bit cold all the time you want to give them a hot protein. I know what you must be thinking…. that protein can help keep the dog cool or warm? And the answer is yes. Some proteins can help bring the body to cool down and the other to warm the body. Some pups just run hot and would need a cooler meat to keep their body temperature coolers, or a pup who runs a bit on the cold side would do better with a protein that will keep their body warm. I like to feed Teeny and Mia a little hotter meat during the winter because during the Reno, Nevada winters they are harsh. Here is a list of cool meat and hot meat for your pups.
